Test Result
The Epi proLung BL Reflex Assay test result is either positive or negative for mSHOX2 in bronchial fluid obtained during bronchoscopy.
A negative result indicates that the likelihood for the presence of lung cancer in a given patient is not increased. For patients testing negative with the Epi proLung BL Reflex Assay, the disease is classified correctly as benign in 89 % of cases analyzed, assuming lung cancer prevalence of 35 % within the target population.
A positive result means there is a strongly increased likelihood for the presence of lung cancer in a given patient. For patients testing positive with the Epi proLung BL Reflex Assay, the disease is classified correctly as malignant with a likelihood of 91 %, assuming lung cancer prevalence of 35 % within the target population.
